<p> Zee New Media, the digital arm of Zee Entertainment Enterprises, today launched a portable platform to distribute television content called Ditto TV which can offer live channels and on-demand video content on mobiles, tablets, laptops, desktops and other devices.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"The over-the-top category adds an exciting new dimension to our business model. As Ditto TV has been created to bring in cutting-edge wireless broadband digital services, I believe it will transform the way content is consumed, and monetised," Zee Entertainment Enterprises MD & CEO Punit Goenka said.<br /><br />Ditto TV, which plans to offer a complete set of 50 local channels shortly, will also be available in Britain, the UAE, New Zealand and Australia to begin, followed by the US.<br /><br />Currently hosting a total of 21 channels, Ditto TV has already partnered for content with Sony Entertainment Television, TV Today Network, BBC, and Zee.<br /><br />The service would also allow for complete customisation, both in cost as well as choice of content, as users have the option to handpick a basket of channels as per their personal preferences. The tariffs begin at low Rs 49.<br /><br />"Ditto TV offers extreme versatility, both, in terms of content as well as device and bandwidth compatibility. With the increasing number of smartphone users, it will allow subscribers to access premium content from across the world," Zee Entertainment business head for new media Vishal Malhotra said.<br /><br />Ditto TV has partnered with Siemens Communication and Media Technology to develop a strong technology platform that will offer adaptive streaming.</p>
