'Change JD(S) Kodagu district president'

Last Updated 26 October 2018, 12:15 IST

Accusing JD(S) district unit President Sanket Poovaiah of neglecting the senior leaders in the party, leader Karmadu Subbanna has demanded a change in the district level leadership of the party.

Speaking during the JD(S) workers meet at Lions Club Auditorium on Wednesday, Subbanna alleged that the JD(S) district President does not know how to respect the elders. As there are no MLAs or MLCs from JD(S) in the district, the JD(S) workers themselves have been handing the pleas of the people to chief minister.

Youth JD(S) state committee Secretary Rajesh Yallappa said that Karmadu Subbanna has huge support from the public. The party would be strengthened more if he becomes the district president.

Another senior leader Daya Changappa called upon the workers to strive towards the victory of JD(S) in the upcoming Town Panchayat elections. If Sanket Poovaiah is not removed from the post of JD(S) district President, a delegation will meet the chief minister and party state President H D Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru.

A memorandum to be submitted to the chief minister during his visit to Kodagu was handed over to Karmadu Subbanna.
