Informative talks, competitions and awareness creation are some of the activities at the three-day millet and organic fest that kicked off in the city on Friday.
Seven millet farmers from across the state were felicitated at the event on Friday, while a bunch of cooking buffs will delight food lovers with some innovative dishes using millets on Saturday.
"We want to encourage Bengalureans to make millets an integral part of their everyday diet. This will help them beat a host of health scares posed by diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity," said Sridhar Murthy, founder of Grameena Kutumbaka, an organisation that focuses on healthy living.
Organised by Grameena Naturals, the food festival is taking place at Dr Marigowda Memorial Hall in Lalbagh in southern Bengaluru.
