5 arrested for revenge killing of youth

The police on Friday arrested five men who are suspected to have brutally murdered a youth in revenge for the assault on one of their friends.

Mudassir alias Chhota Panda (24) and Sultan Shah alias Pasha (24), both from Valmiki Nagar, Mysuru Road; Mazhar Khan alias Mazhar (27) of Chandra Layout; Nayeem Shah alias Pinto (23) of Hale Guddadahalli; and Mohammed Muzzamil alias Mujju (20) of Shamanna Garden are accused of killing 22-year-old Syed Ameen in Kalasipalyam on July 31. Three more suspects are on the run.

The group of eight had waylaid Ameen in a narrow lane in front of the RAS Salman Steel store behind the Taj Hotel near Bamboo Bazaar. The killing was in revenge for the assault on one of their friends, Aaron, in Gangondanahalli, Chandra Layout, during Ramzan last year, a senior police officer said.

The Chandra Layout police had booked Ameen, of Valmiki Nagar, for the attempted murder.
