The Anekal police have arrested a 70-year-old retired senior geologist for distributing pamphlets at the 3rd Additional Sessions Court, which had obscene, derogatory and defamatory content against a sitting judge.

The pamphlets contained threats to kill the judge by pouring acid on him.

The arrested, Krishna Reddy, was spotted by the Bidadi police and the court duty staff present on the premises on Thursday morning and was caught red-handed with the pamphlets. The pamphlets had the name and the designation of the judge with obscene pornographic content. The Anekal police rushed to the spot and arrested him.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the judge had earlier pronounced an order against Reddy over a cheque bounce case while he worked as a senior geologist with the mines and geology department. Reddy objected to his order and started openly showing his displeasure towards the judge.

The judge was also apprised of the incident, and on behalf of the judge, a first division assistant lodged a complaint with the Anekal police, who are investigating. Reddy was booked under several sections of the IPC, including criminal intimidation, and under sections of the IT Act.
