Last Updated 30 April 2018, 06:16 IST

Bengalureans are coming together to discover their artistic talents over wine at Sip and Paint parties that are catching up. The trend originated in the US with an aim to provide people with a space to de-stress through painting together over wine and food.

Painting sessions turn into social gatherings with people painting and dining together.

A small get together of friends over food and drinks turned into a session of painting and socialising for Kuntal Bansal, co founder of Bangalore and Bombay Drawing room that hosts such painting parties. Speaking of the event, he says “ The event is a great platform for people to discover their artistic talents along with de-stressing and socialising.”

“ As organsiers our biggest gratification is seeing the apprehensions and tension on the participants faces turn into excitement and joy after completing their art pieces after the session ,” said Bansal who co founded the Drawing Room venture with his wife Snehal Patil. The sessions are steered by a lead artist who guides the participants to paint as he or she works on her painting.

BrushPlay also regularly hosts paint and sip parties in the city. The event is a great stress buster for professionals in the city who find this as a creative way to rewind after a hectic week, said Bansal.

“We provide all the art supplies to the participants and our events are hosted a restaurants that lend us space to host the event over snacks, lunch or wine. Though the participants are given a common theme and are guided by the artist, they bring their individual elements to their artworks, “ said Reshma Venkatraman, lead artist at BrushPlay.
