Bengaluru Rural SP transferred over controversial video

A day after controversial videos of Bengaluru Rural SP Dr Bheemashankar S Guled went viral on television, the state government on Monday transferred the 2012 batch IPS officer. The government, however, has not assigned any post for Guled.

The video caused much embarrassment to the state police force.

Following a complaint by a techie, the Koramangala police invoked IPC Section 497 (adultery) against Guled.

The issue snowballed into a bitter controversy, forcing the government to crack its whip. Holding a marathon meeting with bureaucrats and senior police officers on Monday in the Vidhana Soudha, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara clarified that he has sought a report from the DGP over the issue.

By Monday evening, the government shunted out Guled and made DCP (Traffic), West Bengaluru, T P Shivakumar as Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru Rural district.

Meanwhile, the complaint filed by the techie against Guled is likely to come up for hearing before the 1 ACMM court on Tuesday.
