The mother and young one are healthy and are under constant observation.

The birth of a Pig Tailed Macaque on August 21 has buoyed the Bannerghatta Biological Park authorities.

Born to 10-year-old female named Maman and six-year-old male Jalhaz, the macaque’s arrival has increased the number of Pig Tailed Macaques in the park to seven.

On August 4, 2015, the BBP received two females and a male from the Sepahijala Zoological Park, Agartala, under the animal exchange
programme.

The BBP management said the mother and the young one are healthy and are under constant observation.
