Bizman fires in air over parking row, arrested

Tension gripped the residents of Kempanna Layout near Hebbal on Sunday night when a businessman fired into the air to threaten his neighbour over a parking issue outside his house.

Following the incident, the police arrested businessman Sanjeev Saxena (42) and his neighbour Ravi Kumar, a car driver.

Saxena, a native of Uttar Pradesh, migrated to Bengaluru 20 years ago and ventured into the bakery business. Seven years ago, he obtained a licence for the weapon for safety.

According to the police, Saxena has two vehicles, while Kumar owns one car. Due to the paucity of space, Saxena would park his cars in front of Kumar’s house, who would find it
difficult to park his own vehicle.

On Sunday, around 10.40 pm, Saxena parked his car in front of Kumar’s house. Kumar raised an objection to this and asked Saxena to remove his vehicle. Saxena refused to do so and a fight broke out between them. Saxena went inside his house, but returned a while later with his revolver and fired into the air.

A local resident informed the police, who rushed to the spot and arrested Saxena and Kumar. They have also seized the revolver.

Saxena claimed that he saw people rushing to see the fight and shot in the air as he was afraid. Kumar, for his part, narrated the inconvenience caused by Saxena over the way he parked his cars.
