CCB arrests kin of Ambidant owner

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Friday arrested a relative of Ambidnat’s owner Syed Fareed Ahmed in connection with the Ponzi scheme case on Friday. The arrested was identified as Irfan Mirza. The CCB has been granted seven-day custody of Mirza for further interrogation.

A senior police officer said, “Mirza, son of Fareed’s sister, had joined the company as a director. After a while, he took over the financial transactions. He was aware of Ambidant’s overseas investments. He had a major role in the scam. As Mirza was aware of all the financial transactions of the company, he was taken into custody to gather more
information.”
