CCB sleuths arrest man for cricket betting

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested 2 persons in separate incidents. One of them was arrested for cricket betting, while the other was held for trying to sell fake pearls.

In the first incident, Suresh, 38, of Srirampura was arrested for indulging in cricket betting in L N Pura in Srirampura on Friday.  He was collecting betting money from people during the IPL match between Sunrisers and Gujarat Lions on Friday. They have recovered Rs 56,400 in cash, 6 mobile phones and a television. The official added that they are keeping a tight vigil as it is expected that several people may indulge in betting during the final game of IPL 2016 on Sunday. 

In another incident, the CCB raided a lodge and arrested a person, who was trying to sell fake pearl in Chamarajpete. The police arrested Sanjay, 44, from a room in Prakash Cafe Lodge and seized fake pearls. His associate Magaranjith is absconding.
