JOIN USDocuments available with Deccan Herald show that Shivakumar owns a five-storey house on property numbers 22 and 23 on 16th Main Road of Rangaswamy Gudi area in Gandhinagar Ward.
He, however, declared that he has a two-storey building- ground floor and first floor.
According to the tax receipts of property number 23, 720 sq ft area is used for self residential purpose and 240 sq ft of land for self non-residential purpose. The remaining 240 sq ft of non-residential portion has been rented out.
The tax he has paid for the current financial year on May 29, 2010 is Rs 16,914. For the same property Shivakumar had paid Rs 17,399 in 2009-10 and Rs 17,724 in 2008-09.
The BBMP officials in reply to an RTI application admitted that Shivakumar has built five- storey building- ground floor plus four floors.
Though a five-storey apartment in a small area itself is a violation, the Palike officials are yet to find out the violations.When contacted, Shivakumar said he has paid tax for all the five floors of his building. "I've not done anything illegal. Because I am exposing corruption, people try to tarnish my image," said Shivakumar.
