Activists of Sri Rama Sene and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti met city police commissioner T Suneel Kumar on Friday and lodged a complaint against Jnanpith awardee Girish Karnad for wearing a placard that read ‘Me too Urban Naxal’ at the Gauri Memorial Trust’s convention on September 5.
A similar complaint was also filed by advocate N P Amrutesh before the Vidhana Soudha police demanding the arrest of Karnad for spreading insurgency.
He stated in the complaint that when the Naxal movement was banned, how could Karnad sport a placard declaring himself an urban Naxal.
