Cricket fan stabbed, robbed at BTM Layout

Ajay Pushpa, a resident of BTM Layout, was on Sunday night waylaid, stabbed and robbed by three unidentified men, while he was returning home after watching IPL T20 cricket final match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The incident took place at BTM Layout, when the suspects accosted Ajay who was riding back home.

He put up a fight and managed to push down one of them. However, he was held by the other two and one of them stabbed him with a knife. 

The trio snatched away Rs 800, a cellphone and other valuables before fleeing, Ajay has said in a complaint.

Cash bag stolen from car

The windshield of the car belonging to Jayaram Reddy was smashed by miscreants on 80 Ft Road in Kengeri, and bag containing Rs 3 lakh was spirited away on Monday.

A resident of Nagadevanahalli, Jayaram, who owns a tiles factory at Kumbalgodu, had kept the bag on the driver’s seat, parked his vehicle on the roadside and had gone to the bank. 

He returned to find the windshield broken and the cash bag missing, the police said.The CCTV footages installed near the bank did not provide any conclusive evidence as the car was parked a bit too far, the police added.

Homemaker falls to death

Manjula Chandrashekar, 29, died after an accidental fall from the third floor of a residential building in Sunkadakatte on Sunday.


The incident took place when she bent over the parapet wall, lost her balance and fell to her death while hanging clothes out to dry.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead, the police said, adding that they are probing into the incident.

2 killed, 2 injured

Two persons were killed and two others injured in separate accidents in Chickpet and Yeshwanthpur on Monday.

Sheikh Salman, 22, a resident of Gangondanahalli, was killed on the spot after his bike hit a road divider and then rammed another bike near City Market flyover.

He was on his way to City Market when the accident occurred.

Joshi, who was riding another bike, was also injured in the accident, said the police.

Salman lost balance as his bike ran over the divider.

The bike then rammed Joshi’s bike. Both of them fell down and Salman succumbed to injuries, added the police.

In another accident in Yeshwanthpur, Mamatha, 25, a resident of Tumkur Road, was killed on the spot after an oil tanker knocked down a two-wheeler on which she was riding pillion. 

Hanumegowda, the victim’s husband, was also injured in the accident, said the police.

The accident occurred when Hanumegowda and Mamatha were on their way to a hospital.
