Kannada actor ‘Duniya’ Vijay will have to pay Rs 5 lakh if he or his family creates any further trouble, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) K Annamalai warned on Wednesday.

The controversial film star, his parents and second wife Keerthi Gowda appeared before the police officer for questioning over a case of public nuisance.

The Girinagar police had opened the case on their own in the last week of October under CrPC section 107 (when an executive magistrate receives information that a person is likely to commit a breach of the peace or disturb tranquillity in any way). Police had booked the actor and his first wife, Nagarathna, for their frequent quarrels disturbing law and order.

Annamalai, who had summoned the celebrity family, conducted an inquiry and asked them to stay away from trouble.

Vijay furnished an indemnity bond of Rs 5 lakh as surety which would be impounded in case of any further violation. A person furnishing an indemnity bond promises to pay a certain amount of money if he/she violates any rule/law/agreement.

Nagarathna, however, didn’t turn up for the inquiry as she is believed to be absconding. She is accused of assaulting Keerthi at Vijay’s house in October and had allegedly escaped when police came home to question her.
