Duo breaks open scooter’s boot space; flees with cash

Two unidentified miscreants broke open the boot of a realtor’s scooter and fled with Rs 5 lakh cash in JP Nagar 7th phase on Tuesday.

The realtor, Sudhakar Reddy, stated in the complaint that he withdrew money from Andra Bank branch in Puttenahalli to pay for the medical expenses of his brother-in-law, who was admitted to a hospital. He kept the money in the scooter’s boot space.

On the way, Reddy stopped at RBI Layout to drink juice as he felt hungry. Two men used the opportunity to break open the boot space and made away with the money. On his return, Reddy found the seat open and the cash missing.

Kumaraswamy Layout police registered a case and obtained CCTV footage showing two men covering their face with helmet broke open the boot space and ran with the money.
