Ex-corporator Nagaraj booked for assault

Former BBMP corporator and rowdy sheeter V Nagaraj is back in the news again, this time for assaulting his sister-in-law and her daughter over a property dispute.

Based on a complaint filed by Nagaraj’s niece, the Srirampura Police have registered a case of assault and criminal intimidation and efforts are on to nab the former corporator and his two sons, Gandhi and Shastri, who are said to be on the run. Nagaraj and his family reside in Swatantrapalya, Srirampura.

Nagaraj and his brother are locked in a property dispute. Nagaraj has been harassing his sister-in-law and her family, threatening to evict them from their house, and assaulted them on Sunday.

Nagaraj’s brother’s family had earlier filed an harassment complaint against him.

Nagaraj was arrested last year for his involvement in a demonetised currency exchange racket in May 2017.
