JOIN USA fake WhatsApp voice message is being circulated that says pulse polio drops have contents that can cause viral fever, the state’s health and family welfare services department has said.
People should restrict themselves from administering polio drops to children, says the misleading and false information spreading on the messaging platform.
In the wake of this fake news spreading on WhatsApp, the deputy director of immunisation has written to the Bengaluru city police commissioner to take action against those spreading fake news about the Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme.
In 2019, the pulse polio vaccination drive will be held on February 3 and children below the age of 5 years should be compulsorily administered the polio drops, the deputy director said.
