The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has sent the final draft of the ‘Outdoor Signage and Public Messaging Bylaws 2018’ to the state government for the approval after consulting 1,200 people.

The civic body has revised the bylaw according to the public objection and suggestion. It also had held public consultancy at the town hall in October last year.

Speaking to DH, N Manjunath Prasad, BBMP Commissioner: “We had published the draft of the bylaw and given one month time to the general public to file objections, suggestions. After receiving 1,200 feedback, we also held a public hearing at the town hall.”

“After these procedures, final bylaw has been prepared and sent to the government for the approval,” he added.

“The final bylaw draft has been sent to the Urban Development Department, and this would be forwarded to the law section and later to the finance department. Then the state government will approve the bylaw,” explained Venkatesh, BBMP Joint Commissioner (Finance).
