Adopting technology to make its services available to citizens, the Forest Department has won the ‘SKOCH Order-of-Merit’ at the national level for two of its ambitious projects.
The department won three awards under the Top Corporate Excellence Projects in India for its initiatives: Hasiru, an online platform to book seedlings and timber; an e-auction system for timber and other forest produce; and the streamlined process to allot timber for construction activities. The awards were given at the 53rd Skoch Summit on September 18-19 in New Delhi. The Skoch awards recognise the efforts of the government and private organisations working along with the government at the local, state and national levels across sectors.
