JOIN USThe Karnataka High Court came down heavily on the corrupt officials of the BBMP and the Urban Development Department (UDD) for fleecing the common man.
Hearing a case pertaining to the denial of occupation certificates to Wallmark apartments in the city, a single-judge bench of Justice S N Sathyanaranya said that there was a situation in government departments where nothing happens without "agents".
'Jail them all'
"There is a nexus between these agents and officials who are fleecing people. Orders are issued with the intention of making the common man suffer more. It won't be wrong to send such officials to jail," the court said.
Hearing a case against L C Nagaraj, Bangalore North assistant commissioner, the judge said the court will decide on April 12 whether the official "should be sent home or office or some other place".
