In a drunken stupor, a hotel employee fell to his death from the fourth floor of his paying guest accommodation in HAL on Sunday night.

Rajkumar (26), a native of Patna, was talking over the phone on the terrace when the incident took place, the police said. The police have taken a statement from Shiva Reddy, the owner of the Mogal Darbar Sai paying guest accommodation.

According to a senior police officer, Rajkumar had returned from the hotel to the PG around 11 pm in a drunken state. He walked up to the terrace while speaking on the phone. The police suspect Rajkumar may have tried to sit on the parapet wall, lost his balance and fell down.

The building's security guard heard a loud thud and rushed to see Rajkumar lying in a pool of blood. The guard then alerted the HAL police.

Rajkumar's brother came to the city on Monday and identified the body, which was handed over to his family after the postmortem was conducted. The police do not suspect any foul play.
