Man arrested for flashing at nun

A man in his 30s was arrested for flashing at a nun and sexually harassing her using a condom in JC Nagar. The incident was reported on September 11 and the suspect has been identified as Vijay, a resident of Bore Bank Road. He was booked under IPC section 354-A, produced before a magistrate who remanded him in judicial custody.

According to the nun, who is a resident of JC Nagar and working for an NGO in the city, she was heading to work along with her colleague. Around 9 am, near the railway footbridge on Bore Bank Road, Vijay flashed at her while holding a condom and gestured to her in full public view.

She immediately called the police control room. A Hoysala patrol vehicle arrived immediately and bundled up Vijay and took him to JC Nagar police station. The nun lodged a complaint with the police who registered a case and arrested the culprit. Vijay is a daily wage labourer and is often seen loitering in the area, a senior police officer said. Further investigations are under way.
