A week after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah pulled up Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for potholed roads, specially on Mysuru Road, Bengaluru Development Minister K J George set May 31 as the deadline for fixing the potholes on Nayandahalli-Rajarajeshwarinagar arch stretch.

“Works undertaken by Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), BBMP and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited  (BMRCL) have badly hit Mysuru Road. This is also causing traffic chaos. I have told officials to repair the road at the earliest and also build shoulder drains to enable free flow of rainwater,” the minister said.

He later inspected the bridge over the drain near Gali Anjaneya Swamy temple and said that it needs to be heightened as a precautionary measure as monsoons would set in soon. George expressed unhappiness over the delay in construction of bridge near the temple.

BBMP Chief Engineer (SWD), Siddegowda, was instructed to complete the pending work on the bridge on the other side of the drain, at the earliest. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will again take a ride on the Mysuru Road on Tuesday, according to sources.
