Namma Metro may not be suspended tomorrow

Last Updated 21 December 2018, 06:13 IST

The service on purple line of the Namma Metro is unlikely to be disrupted this Saturday and Sunday as the BMRCL seeks a "more permanent solution" to the problem.

A report by the Times of India says that the BMRCL has not revealed the new dates of suspension of services but it is unlikely to be during the end of the year as the Metro works on an extended duration on December 31.

Speaking to the ToI, a senior BMRCL official said that they are chalking up major repair plans which includes grouting and curing for two days on weekends. The official also said that the public will be informed beforehand in the event of disruptions but there is no threat to any structures of the Metro.

The BMRCL has already announced that it will arrange free BMTC shuttle bus services from MG Road to Indiranagar when the Metro will be unavailable owing to repairs.
