Speaking to DH, Urban Development Secretary (Municipalities and Urban Development Authorities) Anjum Parwez, said: “Considering the future growth of Nelamangala, the government has decided to upgrade the town municipal to city municipal corporation.”

“We have added seven nearby villages to the upcoming Nelamangala city municipal corporation. After taking those villages into account, the population will be more than 50,000 and the population like this have to be declared as a city municipal corporation,” he added.

Nelamangala is located in between Bengaluru and Tumakuru and is 30 km away from the state capital. Nelamangala has a great future and if we can plan properly it would be better for the growing town like Nelamangala to have a best civic governance,” said Parwez.
