The priest of Jalahalli Ayyappa Temple in Bengaluru, V N Vasudevan, has been selected as the next head priest of the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.
He will serve as the 'melsanthi' for one year at the sanctum sanctorum, also known as 'sannidhanam'.
Vasudevan was selected from a pool of applicants through a draw of lots on Thursday morning at Sabarimala temple premises.
