Over 10,000 take part in Midnight Marathon

More than 10,000 people, including the differently-abled, took part in the Bengaluru Midnight Marathon on Saturday.

Organised by the Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor, the 12th edition of the Bangalore Midnight Marathon 2018 is a two-day programme and began on Saturday evening at the Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation (KTPO), Whitefield.

The theme for the event this year is, Support differently abled - for the welfare and benefit of differently-abled communities. The funds drawn from the event will be used to support differently-abled people, along with other community developmental works in Bengaluru.

The programme includes a chain of events like Community Relay, 5-km IT City Fun Run, Corporate Relay, Open 10-km run and the Full Marathon will go on till Saturday midnight.

The 5-km fun run was lead by inspirational blade runner Shalini Saraswathi.

Techies, college students, athletes and professional runners from over 23 countries will take part in the Marathon.
