Members of ‘i Change Indiranagar’ have urged the city police and the BBMP officials to continue their drive against the unauthorised live bands performing in pubs and bars across the city.

In a press statement released on Thursday, they said: “We from ‘i Change Indiranagar’ believe that the restriction is not on the music, but the emphasis is on the public good and the safety of people. The safety of the state is the supreme law.”

Raj Kumar Pillai, a member of the organisation said: “We have been facing many issues including parking woes, sleepless nights due to many irregularities by these commercial establishments. If the establishment is running according to the law, we do not have anything against them.”

“The police have started the drive against the unauthorised pubs and bars. They are asking for occupancy certificates and no objection certificates, which should be checked by the BBMP authorities ideally. The drive is now partially implemented, but they should not stop it midway,” he urged.
