The Ist ACMM court in Bengaluru on Wednesday granted bail to former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) minister and Ballari mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy, in an alleged bribery case involving an accused of an alleged Ponzi scam.
V. Jagadeesh, the judge hearing the bail plea, granted bail after taking two surety and bond of Rs 1 lakh. He further directed Reddy not to tamper with evidence and influence witnesses in the case and cooperate with the investigation.
The bail comes as a relief to the controversial former minister, who, among other allegations, is battling charges of causing losses to the state exchequer with illegal mining.
