Public hearing on advt by-laws next week

The BBMP has submitted to the Karnataka High Court that it will be conducting a public hearing of objections/suggestions regarding the new advertisement by-laws in the coming week.

A division bench headed by Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari was hearing a batch of petitions seeking directions to remove the unauthorised flexes and hoardings in Bengaluru.

The BBMP counsel stated that steps for personal hearing in relation to about 800 of the suggestions/objections received with regard to the proposed by-laws are being taken and the public hearing is likely to take place next week.

The court also asked the state government to submit its response with regard to advertisement boards that are being displayed on the back of BMTC buses.

The court then adjourned the hearing to December 4.
