Residents protest against poor condition of road

Over 400 residents of Thirumalashettyhalli in Whitefield on Sunday protested against the BBMP and the local authorities over the pathetic condition of the Chikka Tirupathi Road.

According to the residents, the two-km stretch between Thirumalashettyhalli and Channasandra is full of potholes.

Uttam Marathe, a resident of Thirumalashettyhalli, charged that pleas to repair the pothole-filled roads in the past two years had fallen on deaf ears. The protesters said it takes more time to pass through the stretch.

“The road improvement project was taken up at a cost of Rs 80 lakh before the Assembly elections were announced. As the low quality work was executed in just two months, the road is back to its earlier shape, with too many potholes,” Marathe added.
