Robbers snatch woman's bag after ramming her bike

Unidentified men snatched a schoolteacher's bag after ramming her two-wheeler on Horamavu Main Road in eastern Bengaluru on Thursday evening. The bag contained cash and documents.

Jagadishwari left her school and was riding to her home in Maragondanahalli. She took a turn near Raghavendra Circle around 6.30 pm when fellow motorists struck her two-wheeler. As she fell off the vehicle, the men came up to her on the pretext of helping her but snatched the bag and fled, said the jurisdictional KR Puram police who have opened a case after Jagadishwari filed a complaint.

This apart, at least two chain-snatchings were reported in the city on Friday.

Jyothi, a resident of HBR Layout 5th Block, was talking to her neighbour around 8.15 am when a man approached her on the pretext of enquiring about an address. As Jyothi tried to help him, he snatched her 40-gram gold chain and sped off on a bike along with his associate. The Hennur police have registered a case.

In the second incident, Subhadra, a resident of New BEL Road, was going to a grocery shop around 9.15 am when unidentified men riding on a motorbike snatched her 15-gram gold chain.

Rs 6L burgled from home

Miscreants broke open the door of Badrilalith Mukharam's house and took away gold jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh. Mukharam had locked the house and gone to his hometown with his family when the incident occurred. The burglary emerged on Friday.
