The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) submitted to the High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday that Rs 42 crore has been recovered as advertisement tax.
Hearing a batch of petitions filed in connection with advertisement taxes, Justice Vineet Kothari directed the joint commissioners of various Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike zones to submit a report with regard to collection of advertisement tax and removal of unauthorised hoarding.
The high court was informed about certain advertising agencies approaching Mayo Hall and granted injunction orders against the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.
Justice Kothari granted a stay on the lower court orders as the matter has been seized of by the high court.
