The 11th edition of Eduverse-Jnanadegula annual education fair organised by Deccan Herald and Prajavani drew thousands of students and their parents, who discussed higher education.

The two-day fair began at Jayamahal Palace Hotel Grounds on Saturday, the day when the CET results were announced, and brought many students who had several questions about their next step.

Karnataka Examination Authority public relations officer A S Ravi and Comed-K expert Shantaram Naik spoke to students and clarified their doubts. Many sought to know the best college they can choose as per the rank they have scored. Those with lower ranks enquired the next best course and college.

Those who could not attend the programme on Saturday due to the announcement of CET results came to the event on Sunday.

Though the venue was full, many students and parents stood behind to listen to the talks by experts.

Even after the lecture, many stayed back to speak to the expert personally and get their opinion.

“My daughter has scored well in PU and wants to study BSc. But we had many doubts about the best combination and colleges available. We got good suggestions from experts at the fair,” said Greeshma from Vijayanagar.

“We were only told to be careful during the CET seat allotment but nobody explained the process. We have got detailed information on seat allotment as well as choosing a course and college,” students said.

First-hand info at stalls

Prestigious institutions and universities from across the state had set up stalls at the fair where students obtained first-hand information about the course fee, placement and facilities like provided by them.

CMR University, Geetam University, KLE Technical University, Presidency University, Reva University, MS Ramaiah, Acharya, Garden City and Amity were some of the leading institutions that had set up dedicated stalls in the event. Many banks, including Canara Bank, Karnataka Bank and other financial institutions provided information about education loans.
