Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s grandson to contest Assembly elections

Former President of India Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s grandson has decided to contest the May 12 Assembly polls as an independent candidate.

Subramanyam Sharma G — son of Sulochana, third daughter of Radhakrishnan — said he will file his nomination papers from Malleswaram Assembly seat on Friday.

Another former President, V V Giri, also happens to be his paternal grand uncle.

After finishing initial schooling in Bengaluru, he graduated from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad before doing his masters from Harvard Law School.

After serving in pharma sector in various sectors, the 45-year-old decided to retire and take a plunge into the public life. Sharma said his priority areas include improving government schools.
