Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi on Saturday said his organisation will join hands with the Karnataka government on child rights and other child safety issues.

Satyarthi, founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan, meet Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru and held discussions on these issues.

Satyarthi said that Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save Childhood Movement) began in 1980 and the organisation focuses on ending bonded labour, child labour and human trafficking. It also fights for the right to education for all children.

Strengthening child rights protection committees in the districts and forming a task force on child safety were also discussed.

Satyarthi said that concerns about child-related policies will give a deep human face to politics. Kumaraswamy said the government will give utmost priority to sensitive issues such as child safety and child abuse.
