JOIN USThe four people arrested in the killing of Gauri Lankesh were also involved in the shooting of rationalist MM Kalburgi, the SIT has revealed.
SIT sources said the involvement of Amol Kale –the mastermind- along with Amit Degwekar, Rajesh Bangera and Ganesh Miskin in Dr Kalburgi’s murder was passed on to the CID’s chief investigating officer probing his killing.The probe revealed H L Suresh, arrested for destroying the evidence and sheltering the accused, kept the gun with him for 10 days after the murder and later gave it to Kale.
Kale was in Suresh’s house in Seegehalli when Parashuram Waghmore and Ganesh Miskin rode a bike to kill Gauri on September 5, 2017. After shooting Gauri, they went to Suresh’s house in a van and later to Mohan Naik’s acupuncture clinic in Kumbalgodu. After a brief stay, all of them went in different directions. Suresh in SIT custody till August 8. He retrieved the bike used and knew where it was hidden. He had destroyed the jerkin and helmet used in the murder.
