A group of six friends stayed for over a month in the upscale Chancery Hotel located on Lavelle Road and fled without paying the bill of Rs 19,76,783.

James P, the hotel’s liaison officer, has made a complaint to the jurisdictional Cubbon Park police against Srinivasa Raju B P, Mitesh Solanki, Sathish S R, Venkatesh Bhandarkar, Ravendra Raghav and Vijay Varma. The friends are from Karnataka and a neighbouring state.

They were regulars at the hotel since July 2017 and had booked rooms on various occasions. Before taking up their current stay, they paid an advance of Rs 2 lakh and checked in on different dates for over a month. When the hotel management asked them to clear the dues, there was no response from them. Their mobile phones were later found switched off, the complaint stated.

The Cubbon Park police said they are checking the call detail record of the suspects and will arrest them soon. The police learnt that one of them owns a petrol bunk, while another is a top executive in a private firm. The rest are businessmen.
