Student beaten by bar staff in fight over late dinner

A 22-old-law student was allegedly assaulted by the staff of a bar-cum-restaurant on New BEL Road near Sadashivanagar, North Bengaluru, early on Monday.

Rutwik Paritosh, a native of Bihar and a resident of MS Ramaiah Nagar, had come to the bar-cum-restaurant along with his friends on Sunday night to order alcohol and food. While the alcohol was served, there was a delay in serving the food. Paritosh got impatient and questioned the waiters, Arun Kumar and Lakshman, for the delay. Arguments started to simmer between them.

Hearing their heated arguments, Rakshith, a bouncer, asked Paritosh to calm down and assured him that the dinner will be served shortly. Paritosh refused to sit. Rakshith hit him on the head and pushed him. Paritosh was injured and was rushed to a hospital. Later on Monday, he filed a complaint at the Sadashivanagar police station. Police later arrested the waiters as well as the bouncer. The three were produced before a court which released him on bail.
