Student killed, 4 injured in car accident

A 21-year-old student was killed while four others sustained injuries in a car accident on the Anekal-Chandapura road on Tuesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Venugopal, a resident of Anekal and a student of Al-Ameen College near Lalbagh. The injured have been identified as Pawan, Suraj, Abhishek, and Mahesh who are admitted to Sparsh Hospital where their condition is said to be critical. They were students of Alliance University and aged between 18 and 21 years, the police said.

According to the police, Abhishek was driving a Maruti Swift car which met with an accident between 3.30 and 4 pm near Karpura village gate, opposite the Eastern Silk Factory, the police said. Abhishek lost control of the vehicle which hit a median and the car toppled. Passersby rushed to their help and shifted them to the hospital. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
