Terrorism is not a problem of one nation: Kailash Satyarthi

“Terrorism is not a problem of one nation, but is stuck like a disease with all nations. It is just going to multiply in the coming years,” said Nobel laureate Kailash Sathyarthi on Thursday.

Speaking at the silver jubilee celebrations event organised at Seshadripuram First Grade College in Yelahanka, he said: “It is important to think towards the sustainable development of the country. Although science and technology are advanced, the time has arrived to think sustainability and simple things to build a peaceful nation.”

He also that a baby was dying in the country for every 30 seconds and about four children were undergoing sexual assault every hour.

“About 15.2 crore children are working as child labourers in the world and they have to be rescued,” he said.

Dr VK Atre and retired IISc director Prof B Balaram were also present.

Children rescued

Kailash Satyarthi even participated in a seminar organised by the South Western Railway (SWR).

He said the SWR rescued 753 children under its operation called ‘Nanhe Farishtey’ in nine months from July 2017 to March 2018 from 18 states and a majority of them were from Karnataka.
