Three die in separate road accidents

Three persons were killed in separate accidents in various parts of the city on Wednesday.

Chandrashekhar, 28, who was riding a scooter, was killed on the spot when a speeding car knocked him down on the Old Madras Road on Wednesday night. The victim worked for a travel agency, the police said.

He was heading towards Hoskote from KR Puram to visit his friend. When he reached Bhattarahalli on the Old Madras Road, the speeding car knocked him down from the rear. Chandrashekhar sustained grievous head injuries and died on the spot. Fearing public wrath, the driver fled the scene abandoning his car a little further, the police said.

The KR Puram traffic police have taken up a case.

Labourer comes under wheels

In another accident, a 35-year-old labourer was killed after he slipped from a bus and came under its wheels at the BMTC bus stand in Majestic on Wednesday night.

The victim identified as Ravindra, a native of Kalaburgi. He had come to the city to work as a construction labourer.

The police said the accident happened while he was trying to board the bus when he lost balance and fell down coming under its wheels.

The Upparpet traffic police have arrested the driver.

Gardener knocked down

In other separate accident, Manjunath (34), a gardener at BIAL was killed, when a speeding car knocked him down from his scooter at Kannamangala Gate in Devanahalli on Wednesday.

The victim, Manjunath, was heading to work when the accident occurred. The airport traffic police have taken up a case and have arrested the car driver.
