Tipper knocks down bike, 18-yr-old PU student killed

An 18-year-old student was killed after a speeding tipper knocked down his bike on NICE road near Bannerghatta toll gate on Friday morning. The deceased Bharath was a resident of Uttarahalli and was on his way to his college in Electronics City, the police said. Bharath was a 2nd PU student at the Krupanidhi College, the police added.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 8.30 am at Bileganahalli when Bharath was heading to his college on his Bajaj Pulsar bike. Bharath died on the spot. The tipper driver abandoned his vehicle and fled from the spot fearing public wrath. The Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Traffic was disrupted for a while. The police later cleared the tipper and the bike from the spot. The police have taken up a case of rash and negligent driving causing accidental death and are on the lookout for the tipper driver.
