Faced with the challenge of new Covid-19 clusters emerging in the city, the BBMP will hold a virtual meeting with various Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) across the city on Tuesday.

BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad on Monday said that he has instructed officials to get in touch with the RWAs and provide them with all information and testing facilities required.

The commissioner warned all apartments in the city to strictly implement Covid protocol, especially during social gatherings.

The meeting has been called in view of an outbreak of the infection in an apartment in Bommanahalli.

'Be alert, cautious'

Speaking about the outbreak, Vikram Rai, secretary of the Bangalore Apartments’ Foundation (BAF), said the federation has asked its members to remain cautious and continue to follow the protocols as stipulated by the government.

“We advise our members to use this incident as an alert to take precautions,” he said. He opined that encouraging gatherings is still “risky”. The BAF has also issued an advisory regarding the same.

BBMP is taking steps to control the virus spread and has set up six camps to test the apartment residents.
