Following a complaint by UB City residents about noise pollution, the Cubbon Park police issued notices to pubs, bars and restaurants playing loud music beyond the stipulated time on Thursday.

The police said that residents of Vittal Mallya Road and surrounding areas had complained to DCP Central about noise from pubs, bars and restaurants playing loud music till 2 am. The police said that they will take legal action against the pubs and bars since they had not acted despite being issued a notice earlier.

Residents of Vittal Mallya Road, D’Souza Layout, Walton Road and Lavelle Road have also started a signature campaign saying elderly persons and students are suffering a lot.

However, pub, bar and restaurant owners said they have not received any notices from the police about noise pollution.
