Tumakuru Road named in honour of Siddaganga seer

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to name the Tumakuru Road in honour of the Siddaganga seer, Shivakumara Swami.

The Tumakuru Road will be now called the ‘Parama Pujya Dr Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswami Road’.

The stretch between Yeshwantpur Circle to Kennametal Industry road will be named after the seer, who is known for his philanthropic work in the state.

Even the flyover from Goreguntepalya to Kennametal Industry flyover will be renamed as ‘Paramapujya Dr Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Mahaswamiji flyover’.

The decision was taken during the BBMP Council meeting that was held for the month of December on Thursday.

Recently, the 111-year-old seer, was hospitalised in Chennai, following fever and an infection. However, he was discharged after undergoing medical treatment.

The BBMP has also decided to name the newly built park at Poornapragna Layout in Uttarahalli constituency, and a badminton arena built in Basavanagudi, after the former Union Minister Ananth Kumar, who passed away recently.
