Two killed in separate accidents in Bengaluru

A software engineer was killed after he fell off his bike as it slid and lost balance between Hoodi and ITPL in KR Puram on Monday morning.

Somegh Savant, (39), was a resident of Kaggadasapura in CV Raman Nagar, east Bengaluru. He was on his way to work at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Whitefield. A native of Belagavi, after his wedding in 2005, Savant was living in Kaggadasapura with his family, the police said.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 7 am when Savant was riding his Royal Enfield. He had not worn his helmet, but had strapped it on his hand. When he was between Hoodi and ITPL, the bike skidded and Savant fell, hitting his head on the footpath.

Savant sustained grievous head injuries and died on the spot. He was declared brought dead at the Vydehi Hospital, the police added. KR Puram traffic police registered a case of unnatural death.

In another accident, a 27-year-old man was killed while two others sustained injuries in an accident involving two bikes in Devanahalli on Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Sachin, a native of Harapanahalli in Davanagere district. The injured are Kubendra (27), a friend of Sachin and a native of Harapanahalli, and Muniraju (46), a resident of Chikkasanne in Devanahalli. Sachin and Kubendra worked for a private company in Electronics City.

According to the police, the accident happened around 11 pm near the Chikkasanne Gate when Muniraju on his Splendour was crossing the road. Kubendra on his Bajaj Pulsar with Sachin riding pillion collided with Muniraju’s bike. Sachin suffered grievous head injuries and was declared brought dead at the hospital.
