The space under the Veeranapalya flyover near Lumbini Gardens in Hebbal, northern Bengaluru, has been turned into a garden. The beautified space was inaugurated on Wednesday.
The 35,000-square feet space was beautified by the citizens’ group Ugly Indian as part of the BBMP’s Adopt-a-Flyover initiative. Volunteers cleaned, scraped and paved the space, created a garden in it and painted graffiti on the piers.
BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad, who inaugurated the garden, said: “Cleaning and beautifying a city require a public-private partnership. We hope the Adopt-a-Flyover initiative will see a lot more success.”
