Last Updated 05 August 2017, 21:44 IST

“We are engaged in a number of businesses and have paid all taxes. We will come clean from tax scrutiny,” Congress MP D K Suresh, brother of Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, said here on Saturday.

Suresh, who was here to cast his vote for the Vice Presidential elections, told reporters, “We have never hidden our income and our business dealings. We have never evaded taxes. Raids have been conducted at our properties to settle political scores,” he said.

Meanwhile, after intensive questioning by I-T officials, Anjaneya, an employee of Karnataka Bhavan and an aide of Shivakumar, was back at work on Saturday. He had intimated in writing to Bhawan officials about his absence due to raids on his house by income tax officials for the last three days.

On Friday, resident commissioner Atul Kumar Tiwari wrote to Chief Secretary S C Khuntia, intimating Anjaneya's unauthorised absence from duty and mentioned a newspaper report about I-T officials raiding his house.
